Herbert Badger

Herbert Dachs (born July 6, 1943 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian political scientist.

Life

Herbert Dachs attended elementary school in Eben im Pongau and subsequently the humanistic grammar school in Salzburg. From 1963 he first studied philosophy , then geography and history with a focus on contemporary history at the University of Salzburg . In 1970 he obtained his doctorate with a dissertation from Fritz Fellner on the subject of the political attitude of historians teaching at Austrian universities in the years 1918-1930 . From March 1971 Dachs worked as a university assistant at the Institute for Philosophical Society and Political Theory with Franz-Martin Schmölz at the Theological Faculty, and later at the Senate Institute for Political Science. In 1981 Dachs completed his habilitation in political science with the writing school and politics. Political education in Austrian schools 1918-1938 . From 1987 he was Associate Professor at the Senate Institute for Political Science, from 1999 to 2008 Full Professor at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Salzburg.
