Karl Wilhelm of Gemmingen
Karl Wilhelm von Gemmingen (* 1701 ; † January 30, 1763 ) was Baden-Durlach's thigh , chamberlain and lieutenant colonel and landlord in Maienfels .
Life
He was a son of Friedrich von Gemmingen-Maienfels and Sopha Margaretha von Gemmingen. His brother Wolf Christoph (1696–1736) died comparatively young and had only two descendants who died in childhood, so that Karl Wilhelm came into possession of Maienfels alone. The Baden Maienfelsdragoner , who lay in Durlach in 1747 , were under his command and are named after him. He was buried in Mühlhausen.

It belongs to the Maienfels-Aries branch within the 1st branch (Bürg) in the III. Line (Neckarzimmern / Bürg) of the barons of Gemmingen . He was married to Ernestine Friederike von Pretlack. The marriage came from the son Karl August Wilhelm (1740–1799), with death without male descendants the sub-branch Maienfels of the family died out. The property then fell to the relatives in Aries .
