Karl von Marcard

Karl Wilhelm Ernst Marcard , von Marcard since 1888 (born June 13, 1857 in Aurich , † May 16, 1900 in Gersfeld ) was a Prussian administrative officer and parliamentarian.

Life

Karl was a son of the Prussian State Councilor Eduard von Marcard and his wife Wilhelmine, née Gosling (* 1831). His father was on May 5, 1888 by Emperor Friedrich III. was raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility .

Marcard studied at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Berlin . In 1879 he became a member of the Corps Bremensia Göttingen . After completing his studies, he became a Prussian administrative officer. In 1888 he was appointed district administrator of the Soltau district. In 1889 he moved to the Gersfeld district as acting district administrator . On May 24, 1890, he was finally appointed. In Gersfeld he remained district administrator until his death in 1890. He was considered a friend of the military and a supporter of the war clubs .

In the last year of his life, in 1900, Marcard became a member of the Kassel municipal council . He belonged to the German Conservative Party .

Karl von Marcard married Marie Harnier (* 1861) on December 29, 1887. The marriage remained childless.
