The Karla crater is an impact crater in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan that was created by a meteorite impact and is visible on the earth's surface .

Its diameter is 10 km and its age is estimated to be 5 ± 1 million years.

The crater is west of the small town of Buinsk near the border with Chuvashia . It was named after the river Karla, which flows into the right Volga tributary Swijaga near Buinsk ( Russian Карлинский кратер / Karlinski krater ).
