Karlos Arguiñano (born September 6, 1948 in Beasain / Gipuzkoa in the Spanish Basque Country ) is a Spanish chef and entrepreneur, he belongs to the Basque ethnic minority . He is known for his cooking programs on Spanish television and for his appearances in some Spanish films.

Life

Karlos Arguiñano initially worked for the manufacturer of railway wagons and local trains CAF in his hometown Beasain, but at the age of 17 he decided to attend the Escuela de Hostelería del Hotel Euromar gastronomy school in Zarautz under Luis Irizar.

At the age of 30 he opened his hotel restaurant in Zarautz , which is housed in a castle-like building. In 1992, Arguiñano founded the Escuela de Cocina Aiala gastronomy school, also in Zarautz .

Karlos Arguiñano has presented a variety of cooking programs on Basque and Spanish television and has written a number of cookbooks. He now has his own production company, Bainet , with which he is involved in the Spanish television station La Sexta , among other things .

In addition to his activities as a cook and producer, Arguiñano appeared in the Spanish films Airbag , El Año Mariano and El Rey de la Granja .
