Karlsruhe artist fair

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Karlsruher Künstlermesse is an art fair that was launched in 1987 by the city of Karlsruhe and is initially held annually, but since 2013 every two years.

Artists and students at art universities from the seventh semester from Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Alsace can apply to participate. A changing jury made up of renowned art historians , curators and artists will decide on participation. As a rule, around 35 artists from various fields of the visual arts are selected. The fair, which takes place over the weekend on three days in a representative building in the city (in the regional council since 2008 ) is free of charge for the exhibiting artists. For this they are obliged to be present during the fair. The Karlsruhe Art Fair's prize of 4,000 euros for the most successful presentation is awarded to up to three artists.

At the same time as the artists' fair, a poster competition will be announced, endowed with 2,000 euros for the first and 1,000 or 500 euros for the second and third prizes. The winner poster is used to advertise the artists' fair.
