Karous ( Japanese : カ ラ ス, karasu ) is a shoot'em up developed by the Japanese company Milestone for the SEGA Dreamcast game console and its arcade counterpart NAOMI . It will be the last Dreamcast game officially licensed by SEGA. "Karous" is a vertical shooter that is similar to the 2006 published Radilgy (also by Milestone).

The Wii game Ultimate Shooting Collection , released in early 2008, featured Karous along with Radilgy and Chaos Field .

Gameplay

Cel shading graphics are used in Karous . By using dark tones, Milestone tries to create an oppressive atmosphere.

The shields and the strength of the shots can be upgraded using items left behind by defeated enemies.

reviews

The Japanese magazine Famitsu awarded 25 out of 40 possible points. The Edge magazine rated Karous 6 out of 10 points. The Dreamcast fan base was very positive about the game.
