Karrakatta Cemetery
Karrakatta Cemetery is a municipal cemetery in Karrakatta in Perth , Western Australia . Karrakatta Cemetery was first used for burials in 1899. Managed by the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board, the cemetery is visited by more than one million visitors annually. The cypress trees near the main entrance are the landmark of Karrakatta Cemetery. The cemetery includes a crematorium , and in 1995 the first mausoleum was built in Western Australia's cemetery .
The entrance (known as the Waiting House) includes a structure designed by George Temple Poole.

War graves
At the end of 2016, the graves of 107 Commonwealth soldiers from World War I and 141 from World War II were located in Karrakatta Cemetery , and a Dutch seaman is buried here as a war victim of the latter; the graves are divided according to the fields assigned to the various denominations in the cemetery.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintains a memorial to 15 Australian military personnel - two sailors, nine soldiers and four airmen - who died in World War II and were cremated in Karrakatta. In addition, 7 Australian casualties from the same war - two sailors, four soldiers and an airman - were cremated in Karrakatta, but their ashes were scattered or buried elsewhere. Their names are on the Western Australia Cremation Memorial of the spatially separated Perth War Cemetery.
