Karrier was a British company that mainly manufactured commercial vehicles.

history

The roots go back to the Clayton and Company , which was founded in Huddersfield in 1904 . From 1908 vehicles were manufactured under the name Karrier, 1920, the name of the company was Karrier Motors Ltd changed. In 1934 the Rootes Group took over the company. In addition to Commer , Karrier served the commercial vehicle division in this group, with Karrier being responsible for heavy vans and light trucks and Commer for light vans.

The Rootes Group was taken over by Chrysler in 1967 and became part of Chrysler Europe . This meant the end of the brand name Karrier , as in the course of the takeover by Chrysler all commercial vehicles were converted to the brand name Dodge .
