Karst van der Meulen

Karst van der Meulen (* 1949 in Sneek , Friesland ) is a Dutch filmmaker.

He studied at the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam. In the past he has worked as a director, screenwriter, film editor and producer. As a director, he produced many youth films and series. His best-known youth series are "Thomas en Senior" (1988), "De Zevensprong" (1981), also known as " The Secret of the Seventh Way ". His productions and scripts have received several awards. He worked as a trainee for the Children's Film Foundation in London and worked for the Barrandov Studios in Prague. Karst van der Meulen is married to Lenie 't Hart (born October 16, 1941). His wife was the director of a seal protection facility based in the Netherlands until 2014. Since his marriage he has mainly been responsible for public relations. He also produced the documentary "It's a beautiful day" about his wife's work.
