Table of contents

The teacher Frans van der Steg has recently moved in and has been teaching at the local school for three weeks when he receives a mysterious letter in which he is appointed as a private teacher for his nephew Geert-Jan by a Count Grauenstein. It turns out that Geert-Jan is being held captive in the so-called stairwell to look for a mysterious treasure that an ancestor's prophecy points to. • The series was shot in the Achterhoek . The seven-jump junction and the stairwell are in Ruurlo , the house of Miss Rosemarijn in Gelselaar , the school in Markvelde and the house of Frans van der Stegs in Lochem . Karst van der Meulen also wrote the script for the series.
  • The second episode ( Der Mopro ) shows the entrance of a cinema showing the youth film De Bende van Hiernaast , which was also shot in 1980 by Karst van der Meulen.
  • When the idea of publishing it on DVD arose in 2006, it turned out that the SWR had destroyed the material after the license expired and that the version broadcast in Germany was no longer available in archives. The DVD edition released in October 2007 therefore uses a digitally restored original Dutch version (recognizable by the opening credits). The German soundtrack was taken from privately made VHS recordings and brought to the usual level of DVD publications through extensive post-processing.
