Karussell is a German-language literary magazine from Wuppertal. It was first published in December 1980, founded by Jo Micovich and Jörg Aufenanger in collaboration with the literature workshop of the Volkshochschule Wuppertal. The series was discontinued in 1982 due to lack of funds.

Start-up

A re-establishment took place in 2012 under the leadership of Friederike Zelesko , with the editorial team Sibyl Quinke , Dorothea Müller, Dorothea Renckhoff and Marianne Ullmann, in the publishing house HP Nacke and in cooperation with the district group of the Association of German Writers (VS).

The magazine has been published twice a year by Bergischer Verlag Remscheid since 2016, published by the Literaturhaus Wuppertal eV in cooperation with the VS district of Wuppertal-Bergisches Land. The editorial team consists of Dr. Andreas Steffens, Thorsten Krämer and Max Christian Graeff.

The focus is on prose, poetry, essay and art. The respective topic is advertised nationwide and all four editions are linked to the Wuppertal Literature Biennale. The contributions are accompanied by an editorial section with essays, biographical sketches, reading reports, etc. Well-known authors from the Wuppertal region are also represented, for example Jörg Degenkolb-Degerli, Karl Otto Mühl , Ingrid Stracke, Angelika Zöllner and Safeta Obhodjas .

expenditure

Since 2016, two editions have been published annually, individually available in bookshops or by subscription. Each issue is dedicated to a topic. The editorial team regularly calls for cooperation.
