Jörg Aufenanger

Jörg Aufenanger (born December 16, 1945 in Wuppertal ) is a German writer and director.

Life

Jörg Aufenanger grew up in Wuppertal and Dortmund. After graduating from high school, he studied philosophy, literature and theater history in Berlin (Free University), Paris (Sorbonne). From 1969 he was a theater director and actor at Parisian theaters until the end of the 1970s, then at various German theaters, most recently at the Berliner Ensemble and the Teatro Vascello in Rome. He also produced various radio plays, radio and TV features and films. Since the mid-eighties he has also been active as a writer, with essays, biographies, novels and stories. Together with Isabelle Azoulay , he founded the Berlin artist group ImWestenWasNeues. Jörg Aufenanger lives in Berlin.
