Hans Derendinger

Hans Derendinger (born November 29, 1920 in Olten ; † November 13, 1996 there ) was a Swiss journalist and politician ( FDP ).

Life

After high school in Solothurn , he studied law at the University of Zurich , where he received his doctorate in 1945 . After a brief activity as a notary and lawyer, he became an editor at the Oltner Tagblatt .

From 1957 to 1983 Derendinger worked as a full-time mayor of Olten. He was also a member of the Solothurn Cantonal Council from 1961 to 1977 .

He also published ironic poems on everyday social and political life - at times also for the Nebelspalter -, short stories, aphorisms and non-fiction books. For this he received the Culture Prize of the Canton of Solothurn and became an honorary citizen of the city of Olten.
