List of the mayors of Olten
The list of city presidents of Olten chronologically lists the city presidents of the Swiss city of Olten . The mayor (until 1993 mayor ) presides over the five-member city council in full office. The other four members hold secondary positions. The city council was in free-thinking hands for the first 196 years. The long-term series only ended in 2013 when no FDP candidate ran for election. The Liberal Democratic Party was founded in 1894 in the Olten train station buffet . In the period from 1817 (the beginning of the municipality's autonomy ) to 1830, the mayor and governor alternated annually in the exercise of the office.
