Some fungi have peculiarities: In the case of the tubular and stand mushrooms , karyogamy does not initially occur after plasmogamy , but a dikaryotic mycelium develops (in the case of tubular mushrooms, a dikaryotic hypha) in which each cell has two nuclei; Karyogamy usually only occurs when the fruiting body matures in the asci or basidia .
