Kaschau privilege
In the Kaschau privilege , the Polish nobility was granted political privileges for the first time. It was issued on September 17, 1374 by Ludwig the Great .
The privilege of Košice brought the nobility a relief with taxes and military service. In return, the nobility confirmed the female succession to the throne for one of Ludwig's daughters (Katharina, Maria or Hedwig ). The privileges promoted a strengthening of the nobility and accelerated the political weakening of the kingship .
