Barracks sergeant

The barracks Sergeant ( KasFw ) referred to in the army mostly the service position of the senior (not necessarily rank highest ) Sergeant a barracks or a comparable military object (such as rod of the student portion of a Bundeswehrhochschule ). He is not to be confused with the field sergeant , who has similar tasks, but regulates these across barracks and is subordinate to him.

The barracks sergeant is u. a. responsible for military security issues inside and outside the barracks. Due to his position, the barracks sergeant can be authorized to issue instructions to the security officer (OvWa), but never authorized to issue orders (Section 3 Superiors Ordinance (VorgV)). To enforce orders, the barracks sergeant must use the barracks commander. Due to his position in accordance with § 3 VorgV, this person is subordinate to the OvWa and may issue orders.
