Kaspar Wenner

Kaspar Wenner (born August 3, 1895 in Werl ; † May 20, 1965 ) was a German politician ( Center Party ).

Life

Kaspar Wenner learned the trade of a saddler . In 1919 he passed the master craftsman examination. From 1948 to 1964 he was Vice President of the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts .

Wenner was mayor of his hometown Werl from May 13, 1952 to November 6, 1958 . He was re-elected in 1954 and 1956.

On June 28, 1953, he presented the then Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer with a bronze replica of the Werler image . Adenauer had given a speech on the occasion of the Annaberg and anniversary pilgrimage of the Silesians in Werl, Wenner, as head of the city, was one of the city's representatives. The highest ranking participant in the Catholic Church was Cardinal Frings .

On his initiative, the annual Michaelmas week was introduced in Werl. In the Michaelis week traditionally the Schnadezug takes place, which starts at the Schnadestein in the spa garden.
