Kasper Mengers Andersen (born August 3, 1984 in Silkeborg ) is a former Danish racing driver .

Career

Like most motorsport enthusiasts , Andersen began his career in karting , which he practiced from 2000 to 2002. In 2003 he switched to the Scandinavian Formula Renault and immediately finished fifth in the drivers' championship. In 2004 he stayed in this series and won the championship title with nine wins. After taking part in several races of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the German Formula Renault, Andersen started in 2005 exclusively in these series. While he finished 19th overall in the Eurocup, he was sixth in the German Formula Renault with a win. In 2006 he improved to fifth overall in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and also competed in some races in the Northern European Formula Renault.

In 2007 Andersen switched to the newly created International Formula Master . With two race wins, he finished seventh overall at the end of the season. He also competed in five Euroseries 3000 races . In 2008 the Dane started again in the International Formula Masters. He did not manage to build on the victories from the previous year and he finished ninth overall with two second places. He did not participate in the last three races of the season. Instead, he started on four Superleague Formula racing weekends for the team of the Greek football club Olympiacos . In 2009 Andersen returned to the international Formula Masters and started his third season in this championship for Hitech Junior Racing . The Dane won another race this season. After the first three race weekends, his team left the championship and he was unable to finish the season again. Nevertheless, he finished tenth overall at the end of the season. Later in the year he started for the team at FC Midtjylland, which is supported by Hitech Racing, and contested his second season in the Superleague Formula. The Dane achieved third place in the last race of the season as his best result.
