Kate Elliott

Kate Elliott (* 1958 ; as Alis A. Rasmussen ) is an American science fiction and fantasy writer .

In the 1980s and early 1990s, she published her first books under her real name Alis A. Rasmussen , which were not yet commercially successful. Other publishers were interested in their manuscripts but insisted on a name that was unburdened by the poor sales of the earlier books. Her books appeared from 1992 under the pseudonym Kate Elliott .

Her star crown cycle and the Chronicle of the Golden Key , which was created in collaboration with Melanie Rawn and Jennifer Roberson , are among her best-known and most successful works.
