Kate Larson

Kate Clifford Larson is an American historian who has mainly dealt with the American slavery opponent Harriet Tubman . Her 2003 biography Bound for the Promised Land: Harriet Tubman, Portrait of an American Hero was the first Tubman biography in more than sixty years that was not written specifically for a young readership. Kate Larson is also advisor to the Harriet Tubman Special Resource Study of the National Park Service and a member of the Advisory Board of the Underground Railroad in Delaware.

Kate Larson received her PhD from the University of New Hampshire . She now teaches at Simmons College in Massachusetts .
