Kate Walsh (born February 20, 1983 in Burnham-on-Crouch , Essex , United Kingdom ) is a British musician .

Life

Walsh was born in Burnham-on-Crouch, where she grew up. Her parents and older brothers sparked her interest in music at an early age. Walsh began playing the piano at the age of five. She later trained as a classical pianist at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music . She also learned to play the guitar.

She published her first pieces privately on MySpace . Her debut album Clocktower Park was released in 2003 on the Kitchenware Records label . Walsh later started her own label, Blueberry Pie. In 2007 their album Tim's House reached the UK Top 100 and topped the iTunes download charts. Her song Talk of the Town was available as Free Single of the Week on iTunes in March 2007 , which gave her another boost in popularity.

On the 2010 released album Peppermint Radio Walsh sang 11 cover versions, including Prefab Sprout ( When Love Breaks Down ), Erasure ( A Little Respect ) and EMF ( Unbelievable ).

In 2011 the fifth album The Real Thing was released .
