Katharina Gebauer

Katharina Gebauer (born August 6, 1987 in Troisdorf ) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany . She has been a directly elected member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the cities of Troisdorf, Siegburg and Niederkassel since 2017. She is a member of the executive board of the CDU parliamentary group.

Life

Gebauer trained as a kindergarten teacher from 2004 to 2008 after obtaining his secondary school leaving certificate. From 2008 to 2012 she worked as an educator and deputy manager in a daycare center sponsored by the city of Cologne. In 2012 she began studying social pedagogy at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences , which she successfully completed in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From 2015 until she was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament, she worked as a social pedagogue in the social office of the city of Cologne.

Gebauer is married and has two sons. She comes from a Christian family home.

politics

Gebauer has been a member of the CDU since 2013 and of the Junge Union since 2010 . Since 2014 she has been a directly elected member of the district council of the Rhein-Sieg district . Since 2018 she has been chairwoman of the social committee of the Rhein-Sieg district.

She is the deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association Rhein-Sieg with the largest number of members and deputy chairwoman of her home town association Troisdorf.

On May 14, 2017, she ran for the first time for the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . With 42.7 percent of the votes cast, she won back the 28th state electoral district for the CDU as a direct candidate and thus moved into the 17th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as a member. There she is a full member of the committees for families, children and youth, work, health and social affairs and integration.
