Katharina Kainz , Maria Katharina Schröfel ( maiden name), Maria Katharina Schröffel (maiden name), Maria Katharina Schröfl ( maiden name), Maria Katharina Schröpfl ( maiden name), Maria Katharina Schrefel ( maiden name), Kathinka Kainz , ( June 26, 1767 in Moosach - 21 April 1836 in Prague ) was a German singer .

Life

Kainz, the daughter of the teacher Mathias Schröfel and sister of Anton Schröfel, worked as a housemaid in Munich from 1783. In addition, she received lessons in violin playing ( Maximilian Heiss ), piano ( Matthias Buchwieser ) and singing ( Giovanni Valesi ).

Then she had engagements as a singer until 1795 a. a. in Pressburg, Budapest, Graz and Salzburg. In 1796 she was engaged as the second singer at the Augsburg Theater. In 1797 she was the first female singer in Nuremberg with the Augsburg Society under Ferdinand Kindler . From there she fled in August of the same year with her lover, the actor Petrivi, in breach of contract.

In 1810/11 she was engaged in Vienna. There she married the Austrian singer Josef Wolfgang Kainz (1773–1855). Their daughter Marianne Kainz (1800–1866) also became a singer.

Most recently she was mainly involved in her daughter's vocal training.
