Katharina Menz

Katharina Menz (born October 8, 1990 ) is a German judoka .

In 2009 Katharina Menz won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in the weight class up to 44 kilograms. Since 2010 it has been competing in the weight class up to 48 kilograms, the super lightweight. In 2013 she reached the final of the German Championships for the first time and was defeated by Kay Kraus . From 2014 to 2019 she won six championship titles in a row.

In 2018, Menz finished on the podium for the first time in a Grand Slam tournament when she finished third at the tournament in Yekaterinburg . In 2019, a third place followed at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi . In 2017 she took part in the World Championships for the first time , but was eliminated in the first round as well as in the European Championships in 2018 and the European Championships in 2019 . At the 2019 World Championships in Tokyo, she reached the second round for the first time with a victory over Anne Suzuki from the United States, where she was eliminated against the Argentine Paula Pareto .

The home club of Katharina Menz is TSG Backnang , they train at the Olympic base in Sindelfingen.
