Katharina Schinner (born October 1, 1979 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). She has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council since 2007 and has been Deputy State Party Secretary of the SPÖ Vienna since 2013 .

After primary school, Katharina Schinner attended a general education college and has been working in the textile retail sector since 2000. She has been managing two women's clothing stores since 2004.

Schinner has been involved in the SPÖ since 2003, being particularly active in business organizations and the Währing district organization . Schinner has been chairwoman of the Young Business Association Vienna and Vice President of the Social Democratic Business Association Vienna since 2004 . Since 2005 she has also been Deputy Head of Trade in the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Vienna Economic Parliament. In the same year she rose to the position of federal chairwoman of the Young Business Association and has since been a member of the board of the Austrian Social Democratic Business Association.

Between 2005 and 2007, Schinner was a district councilor in the Währing district council. She is also a member of the district board and chair of Section 20 in Währing. Since January 25, 2007, Schinner has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council. She represents the SPÖ in the 18th legislative period in the “Culture and Science” committee.

On October 21, 2013, she was appointed deputy state party secretary of the SPÖ Vienna. On October 28, 2013, she will succeed Alois Aschauer.
