Catherine of Luxembourg-Saint-Pol († probably March 1492 ) was duchess of Brittany from 1457 to 1458 by marriage .

Life

Catherine was a daughter of Count Peter I of Saint-Pol and his wife Marguerite des Baux . On July 2, 1445, she became the third wife of the future Duke Arthur III , who became known as Connétable de Richemont . Brittany and came to Nantes in December 1445 , where her husband held festivals for her. Then she lived in Parthenay and did not return to Brittany with her husband until 1457, since his nephew, Duke Peter II , had become ill. After Peters' death on September 22, 1457, Arthur succeeded him in the rule, making his wife Catherine briefly Duchess of Brittany. However, Arthur died on December 26, 1458 at the age of 65 in Nantes. His widow, who remained childless, lived a secluded life until her death, which was probably in March 1492, and was buried in the Carthusian monastery in Nantes, which she had completed.
