Catheter

The word catheter (from ancient Greek καθέδρα kathédra "seat, armchair"; taken over into Latin as cathedra "seat, chair ") is an outdated name for the desk of a school or university teacher . The catheter was compared to the tables of the students in an elevated position to the teacher a better overview of the time often comparatively large class to gain. A pedestal was often used for this.
