The three-nave church was built in neo-Gothic style based on the Gothic of the 13th century in England. The 72 meter long central nave is separated from the side aisles by massive limestone pillars. The church offers 1200 seats with a width of 22 meters, it is 27.5 meters high. The vaulted ceiling is a direct copy of Norwich Cathedral in England. Above the tabernacle there is a large, 88-ton marble ciborium in the shape of a crown, a symbol of royalty. The rear narthex of the church houses a massive oak statue of Christ the King. The Stations of the Cross were made in Italy from white Carrara marble. The 82 stained glass windows come from the Mayer'sche Hofkunstanstalt in Munich and show not only biblical scenes and images of saints but also Pope Pius XI. and Bishop John McNally and Therese Neumann , a German stigmatist of the 20th century. In the gallery there is a large, four-manual organ originally from GF Steinmeyer & Co. from Germany with almost 5000 pipes .

After a fire in 1981, the cathedral was redesigned through various renovations. The altar area received a new marble altar and a multi-colored marble floor. The side altars, the organ and important paintings have been rearranged.
