The Cathedral Queen of the Holy Rosary ( Papiamentu : Cathedral Reina di Santisimo Rosario , Dutch: Heilige Rozenkrans kathedraal ), also known as Pietermaai Cathedral , is a Roman Catholic church on the Dutch island of Curaçao in the Caribbean . It serves as the cathedral of the Willemstad diocese, established in 1958 .

Building

The hall church was built in 1870. The facade has a golden ocher color with white decorations. The interior is painted white and has many statues and niches. Lead glass windows frame the large, bronze relief sculpture of the crucifixion of Christ in the choir area.

The cathedral has been part of the Historic Downtown and Port of Willemstad World Heritage Site since 1997 .
