Kathleen Edwards (born July 11, 1978 in Ottawa ) is an Anglo-Canadian musician and singer.

Live and act

Edwards is the daughter of a diplomatic family and spent part of her youth in Switzerland and South Korea . As a child she learned to play the violin. In 1999 she recorded an EP ( Building 55 ) and had it reproduced at her own expense. She got her first record deal in 1999 for Failer .

Edwards was married to guitarist Colin Cripps from 2004 to 2010.

Their music can be assigned to the genres of folk rock and alternative country . She produced the album Voyageur herself with Justin Vernon from Bon Iver. With the new album, she became something of an indie pop musician, the Washington Post reviewer stated.
