Kathrin Aehnlich

Kathrin Aehnlich (born October 9, 1957 in Leipzig ) is a German writer . She writes stories, radio plays, radio features and makes documentaries.

Life

Kathrin Aehnlich first studied at the engineering school for civil engineering in Leipzig and worked for three years in a construction company before studying at the "Johannes R. Becher" Institute for Literature in Leipzig from 1985 to 1988 . She then worked as an editor for the independent weekly newspaper Die Andere Zeitung and since 1992 in the feature editorial team of the MDR for Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk .

Her novel Alle die, die Löffelstöre was required reading for the final exams in 2009 at Baden-Württemberg secondary schools.

Kathrin Aehnlich is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
