Kathrin Kolloch

Kathrin Kolloch (* 19 June 1961 in Neubrandenburg as Kathrin Stoll ) is a German lawyer, author and former top athlete. She was multiple canoe world and European champion.

Life

Kathrin Kolloch, then called Kathrin Giese, trained at SC Neubrandenburg and became world champion in the four-person kayak with Birgit Fischer in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1985 . In 1986 she won the silver medal in the single kayak at the World Championships and then ended her sporting career.

In 1984 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver in the GDR .

In 1989 she completed her law studies, which she began in 1980 at the Humboldt University in Berlin, as a lawyer and then worked for two years as an assistant judge at the Neubrandenburg district court. She has been an independent lawyer since 1992, is married to Peter Kolloch and works as a crime writer.

In 2014 she was finally sentenced to a fine and one year suspended prison sentence for breach of trust. She filed a constitutional complaint against the judgment.

In 2019, she was withdrawn from the bar. After notification by the competent bar association, she is no longer allowed to practice as a lawyer.
