Kathrin Thiem

Kathrin Thiem (born July 2, 1988 in Hanover ) is a former German rower .

Thiem was junior world champion with eighth place in 2005 . At the U23 World Championships , she finished third with eighth place in 2006, followed second place in 2007 and eighth in 2008 finished fifth. From 2009, Kathrin Thiem rowed in the German women's eight , with which she took fourth place at the 2009 World Rowing Championships . In 2010 she won the bronze medal with the German eighth at the European Championships , at the World Championships the boat came in seventh place. After finishing eighth at the 2011 World Championships, the German women's eight with Kathrin Thiem only qualified for the Olympic Games in London at the 2012 qualification regatta in Lucerne . At the Olympic regatta she finished seventh with eighth.

She rowed for the Hanoverian Rowing Club from 1880 . In 2011 she won eighth place at the German Championships.

Thiem studied biology at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover .
