Kathleen Marie "Kathy" Ireland (born March 20, 1963 in Glendale , California ) is an American writer and entrepreneur as well as a former actress and model .

Life and accomplishments

Ireland's photo appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine's 1989 issue , dedicated to the paper's 25th anniversary. Later she worked as a model, for Kmart .

Ireland took on the lead role of Wanda Saknussemm in the science fiction film Alien from LA (1988) . She played the role of Semage in the science fiction comedy Mom and Dad Save the World (1992) . In the comedy Loaded Weapon 1 (1993) she played one of the bigger roles. In the action film Gridlock - The trap she appeared in one of the leading roles. In the films Once Upon a Christmas (2000) and Twice Upon a Christmas (2001), she played the lead role of Kristen Claus .

Ireland is married and lives in Southern California. She is the mother of three children.
