Katia Polletin
Katia Renate Polletin (born March 24, 1967 ) is an Austrian actress and architect .
Since her father worked for the United Nations , Katia Polletin was born in Beirut , where she attended a French school. Expelled from Lebanon in 1975 due to the civil war , the family returned to Austria and settled in Vienna .
After her aunt replied to an advertisement, the eleven-year-old was given the title role of Heidi in the 1978 children's series co-produced in Germany, Australia and Switzerland . She played alongside René Deltgen and Katharina Böhm .
Katia Polletin later studied architecture and married her husband Gerold Schneider, who shares her passion for architecture. Today they live with their two children in the Vorarlberg Alps, where Schneider runs a hotel.
