Katie MacAlister

Katie MacAlister (* as Marthe Arends in August 1969 in the Seattle , Washington area ) is an American author who writes historical, contemporary and paranormal romances.

She mainly publishes under the names Katie Maxwell and Marthe Arends . Her books are regularly given Anglophile influences and often contain a heroine with a strong male counterpart. She is on the New York Times bestseller list and has worked as a bird cage cleaner, wave solderer , Fortran programmer and saleswoman at Harrods . Katie was married for over 20 years before her husband died in a car accident in July 2012. Today she lives alone with her dogs and spends a lot of time on the Internet looking for impressions for her next story. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America Association .
