Katja Hofmann (born October 21, 1986 in Halle / Saale ) is a German poetry slammer and presenter.

Artistic creation

Katja Hofmann grew up in Artern, Thuringia , and moved to Halle / Saale in 2005 to study. There she studied French and political science. Since 2008 she has been touring poetry slam stages in Germany, giving (school) workshops on the subject of “creative writing and stage poetry” as well as “motivational training and team building”. In addition to numerous victories at regional slam events, she became, among other things, poetry slam state champion in her home country Thuringia in 2014. In 2012 and 2013 she qualified for the semi-finals in the individual competition of the German-language Poetry Slam championship . In 2014 and 2016 she and her team partner Leonie Warnke entered the finals of the German-speaking Poetry Slam championship as “Team MfG” . Furthermore, she has been booked as a workshop leader for poetry slam workshops at schools, for company parties or other social projects since 2013.

In the course of the Julia Engelmann hype, the magazine Brigitte became aware of Katja Hofmann. In order to gain even more attention and support for women in the German-speaking poetry slam scene, she joined the Slam Alphas association in 2016 .

Katja Hofmann is a permanent author of the reading stages Glanz & Gloria and Gentle Escalation .
