Katyčiai ( German Coadjuthen ) is a town (Miestelis) in the Lithuanian district of Klaipėda . The place is the center of the administrative district (Seniūnija) Katyčiai and belongs to the Rajongemeinde Šilutė .
location
Katyčiai is located in the southwest of Lithuania , in the former Memelland , about 24 kilometers southwest of the township seat Šilutė . The road from Rukai to Žemaičių Naumiestis runs through Katyčiai . The Šyša (Eng. Sziesze) flows through the village .
history
In 1874 Coadjuthen (apparently) became the seat of an administrative district in the (rural) district of Tilsit . In 1920 it was incorporated into the district of Pogegen (lit. Pagėgių apskritis) and in 1939 the place became part of the district of Heydekrug .
After the incorporation into the Lithuanian Socialist Soviet Republic , Katyčiai became the seat of a district (lit. apylinkė) in 1950. From 1977 to 1995 the place belonged to the Usėnai district . Katyčiai has been the seat of an administrative district since 1995. As such, the place got a coat of arms in 2011.

Katyčiai District
The Katyčių seniūnija, which belongs to the Rajongemeinde Šilutė , has existed since 1995 . In addition to the small town of Katyčiai, 15 villages with a total of 1,109 inhabitants on an area of 63.0 km² are united in the administrative district (status 2011). The district has been divided into the three subdistricts (lit. Seniūnaitija) Katyčių seniūnaitija, Stubrių seniūnaitija and Versmininkų seniūnaitija since 2009. The district includes:
