The Hettlage department store is a commercial building in the center of the Bavarian capital, Munich . It belongs to the Hettlage company and was built between 1953 and 1955 according to plans by the architect Josef Wiedemann on the site of the west wing of the Old Academy that was destroyed in World War II .

Wiedemann created a simple five-story cubic structure with a plastered perforated facade using a reinforced concrete skeleton construction. The facade is structured by evenly arranged rows of windows. A spacious arcade on the ground floor gives access to the building and the displays.

The painter Hermann Kaspar created the facade painting , the geometric shapes of which correspond to the historic gable building of the Old Academy.

The building is a listed building (number D-1-62-000-7902).
