AB Kauno baldai (dt. 'Kaunas Furniture') is a Lithuanian company in the furniture industry based in Kaunas . In 2006 it achieved a turnover of 54.86 million Litas (15.9 million euros ) and a profit of 21.261 million Lt (6 million euros). A branch is located in Visaginas .

The main shareholder is the Lithuanian company UAB SBA Furniture Group , which belongs to the Lithuanian furniture group UAB SBA .

history

In 1880 the furniture factory "Elena" was built in the Žemoji Freda district . At that time, 200 employees worked there. Furniture and parquet were made . In 1954 a combine ( Kauno baldų Kombatas) with three large companies ("Lietmedis", "Raudonoji žvaigždė", "Maumedis") was established in Soviet Lithuania . In 1955 there was also " Kriūkų laivų statykla" in the Rajongemeinde Šakiai . From 1965 kitchen furniture was also produced. In 1974 Gamybinis susivienijimas "Kauno baldai" was founded. In 1977 there were 2,800 employees.

In 1992, Akcinė bendrovė “Kauno baldai” was registered after the state enterprise was privatized . August 1998 AB "Kauno baldai" became a subsidiary of the Lithuanian group UAB SBA. In 2011, “Kauno baldai” was the first Lithuanian company to take part in the “ Salone Internazionale del Mobile ” furniture fair in Milan ( Italy ). In 2013 “Kauno baldai” received an award from the Lithuanian Employment Exchange (for integration into the labor market ).
