The Kavşakkaya Dam ( Turkish Kavşakkaya Barajı ) is located in the municipality of Çubuk , 50 km north of the Turkish capital Ankara in the province of the same name .
The Kavşakkaya Dam was built between 2005 and 2007 to supply drinking water from the Ankara agglomeration on the Ova Çayı , a right tributary of the Ankara Çayı . The barrier structure is a 70.5 m high stone embankment dam with a clay core . The dam volume is 4.7 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 3 km². The storage volume is 64 million m³. The Kavşakkaya Dam supplies 58 million m³ of drinking water per year.
