Kavminvodyavia , KMV for short , ( Russian Кавминводыавиа , transcription Kawminwodyawia) was a Russian airline based in Mineralnye Vody .

history

KMV was founded in 1961 as Mineralnye Vody Aviation Group . The first international scheduled flight took place in 1980, the destination was Berlin. In 1988 the airline was restructured for the first time and renamed Mineralnye Vody Civil Aviation Enterprise . It was reorganized for the second time in 1995 when it was partially privatized and given its current name Kavminvodyavia (KMV). In 1997 the airline bought several Tupolev Tu-204s .

On September 28, 2011 it was announced that the airline is suspending all flights because the AOC expired in August and KMV was not able to submit the required papers within the one-month period granted. In October 2011, as planned before the closure, the company was dissolved in favor of expanding Aeroflot's activities .

Destinations

KMV served national and international destinations from its airport in Mineralnye Vody , which it operated. This mainly included destinations in the European part of Russia, airports in the CIS countries and Turkey . There were international flights to Amsterdam , Tel Aviv and Salzburg , for example .
