The Kayaboğazı Dam ( Turkish Kayaboğazı Barajı ) is located 30 km west of the provincial capital Kütahya in the north-west Turkish province of the same name .
The Orhaneli Çayı (also Kocaçay or Kocasu Deresi ) flows through the dam in a northerly direction. The Kayaboğazı dam was built in 1976–1987 as a rubble dam. It is used for irrigation , flood protection and drinking water supply . The dam has a height of 45 m above the foundation level and 38 m above the valley floor. It has a volume of 627,000 m³. The associated approximately 5 km long reservoir covers an area of 4.2 km² and has a storage space of 38 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 7080 ha.
