Kayes is the name of a district (French cercle de Kayes ) in the Kayes region in Mali .

The district is divided into 29 municipalities, the population in the 2009 census was 513,362.

Municipalities: Kayes (chief town), Aourou , Bangassi , Diamou , Djélébou , Falémé River , Fégui , Gory Gopéla , Gouméra , Guidimakan Kéri Kaffo , Hawa Dembaya , Karakoro , Kéméné Tambo , Kolimbiné , Kouloun , Koniakary , Koussané , Liberté de Mbaya , Logo , Maréna Diombougou , Marétoumania , Sadiola , Sahel , Samé Diomgoma , Ségala , Séro Diamanou , Somankidy , Sony , Tafacirga .
