Kazimierz Szczerba
Kazimierz Wiesław Szczerba (born March 4, 1954 in Ciężkowice ) is a former Polish boxer .
Szczerba was Polish champion in 1976 and 1979 in light welterweight (63.5 kg) and in 1984 and 1985 in welterweight (-67 kg). In 1974 he won the bronze medal at the European Junior Championships (U19) in Kiev .
At the 1976 Olympic Games , Szczerba won after a semi-final defeat by Ray Leonard , USA (5-0), the bronze medal in the light welterweight division, a success that he was able to repeat in the 1980 welterweight games in Moscow . In the semifinals he had to admit defeat this time to John Mugabi , Uganda (3: 2).
Szczerba often fought against German boxers in his career and beat u. a. Karl-Heinz Kruger .
