Kazuhide Motooka

Kazuhide Motooka ( Japanese 元 岡 一 英 , Motooka Kazuhide ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz musician (piano, composition).

Kazuhide Motooka worked in the Japanese jazz scene a. a. in Shigeharu Mukai's quintet , with whom the first recordings were made in 1974 ( For My Liitle Bird , Nippon Columbia). In the following years he also played with Hiroshi Hatsuyama , Tomoki Takahashi and Chiko Honda . In 1984 he released the solo album Dosanko Walk (Aketa's Disk) under his own name , on which he interpreted not only his own compositions but also jazz standards such as " Blue Monk ", " Take the" A "Train " and " Well You Needn't ". From the 1990s on he played with Hideo Oyama and accompanied the singers Michiko Suzuki ( Sweet & Bitter , 2003, with Frank Wess , among others ) and Yukari Matsuoka ( Song Travels , 2012, with Yutaka Yoshida , Kazuaki Yokoyama ). In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in 17 recording sessions between 1974 and 2012.
