action

Mudanya in the late 1970s: The Yarımcalı and Bozoğlu families excitedly discuss the love of their children Orhan and Leyla, who want to get married. While Orhan's father Kemal Yarımcalı agrees to the marriage between his son Orhan and Leyla, Leyla's father Yavuz Bozoğlu vigorously rejects the mutual love of the two and refuses to agree to a marriage, whereupon the Yarımcalı family leaves the house in resignation. Leyla then makes it clear to her father that she loves Orhan, but the father still does not approve of the love. Leyla and Orhan meet secretly on the same evening and have sex in an abandoned, old factory. After sex, Orhan explains to his lover that he will flee with her and secretly marry, but shortly afterwards Leyla's older brother Musa comes to the factory and wants to take Leyla home with him, which Orhan tries to prevent. An argument develops between Orhan and Musa, whereupon Musa pulls a jackknife and stabs Orhan with it. Orhan, in turn, pulls the knife out of his body and rams it into Musa's chest, who then falls to the ground with a cramp. Orhan now wants to flee with Leyla, but Leyla does not want to leave her brother injured. Shortly afterwards, Musa's henchmen come to the factory and forcibly take Leyla with them, Orhan remains behind. After these events, Orhan flees Turkey without reporting where he is going or how long he will be away.

20 years later Orhan lives in Cologne, where he has built a completely new existence. He got married and has a son, whose stepfather he is, works as a painter and now has German citizenship. But he should not go undetected: Musa Bozoğlu, driven by a thirst for revenge and unable to walk because of Orhan, wants to settle accounts with him and kill him. He has tracked down Orhan and confronts him in a restaurant. Orhan tries to appease Musa and wants to let the events of that time in Mudanya rest, but Musa does not give in and swears vengeance. He tells Orhan that he will kill him and threatens his family. Orhan is now forced to return to Turkey to protect his family. Once there, he meets Leyla again, who is now also married and suppresses his feelings for Orhan, also because she is angry with Orhan that he disappeared without notice and never let himself be heard. In addition, Leyla also has a son, whose biological father, as it should later turn out, is Orhan and was conceived during the night together in the abandoned factory.
