The Keitele is a lake in Finland , which is the ninth largest in the country with 498.41 km². The lake is divided into three parts, Ylä- , Keski- , and Ala-Keitele . Keski-Keitele is the largest part. The places Äänekoski and Viitasaari are on the shore of the lake. The lake is at a height of 99.5 m. It flows down to the Päijänne and is therefore in the catchment area of the Kymijoki .
